Through a project supported by the US State Department and US Forest Service, FLINTpro functionality has been expanded to enable user driven management scenarios. A major benefit of this new functionality is the ability to create management events for all of the sub-concession/sub-project area's within a concession or project area respectively. The project areas can be grouped together to simulate as a portfolio, providing the ability to analyse from the sub-project area right through to portfolios of projects. This new functionality provides the ability to assess different scenarios across project or management areas and compare the outcomes of the different scenarios. It empowers user to ask 'what if?' management questions. For example, users can generate a BAU or baseline management scenario, and then create additional scenarios for improved management such as through Reduced Impact Logging for carbon (RIL-C) and assess the carbon outcome.
