The world is full of excel-based carbon calculators… so why bring this one back?

Estimating and projecting GHG emissions and removals in forests and other land uses is far more complicated than AD x EF. CAMFor (Carbon Accounting Model for Forests) is a stand-level forest carbon model that combines tree growth data with management data to estimate the impacts of growth, fire and harvesting on carbon stocks, GHG emissions and wood products.

A precursor to FullCAM, CAMFor can still be found online, but is buried deep in the Australian Government website archive system. So we are bringing it back out into the light and sharing it for download here.

We still use CAMFor as a training tool for those new to carbon accounting and for smaller projects where excel based methods are well suited. It is an excellent tool for those looking to bring a more advanced analysis of forests beyond AD x EF.
