Fort Collins, Colorado US // Canberra, Australia – FLINTpro, a nature technology company that empowers organizations to measure and manage land-based natural capital, has announced the closing of its USD $9.0 million Series A funding round. The round was led by Understorey Ventures with new participation from Pollination, Persei Venture and existing investors Ananta-OM and Synovia Capital.

  • FLINTpro’s award winning land analysis software allows customers to assess and report the value of natural capital assets anywhere in the world, supporting the increasing need for carbon and ecosystem services accounting solutions.
  • FLINTpro’s world-class science team has decades of project, jurisdictional and national data experience, and is trusted by numerous global energy, finance and land management organizations.
  • The funding supports FLINTpro’s global operations and customer base expansion following the relocation of the Company’s headquarters to the US in 2022.

Companies are facing increasing challenges in meeting climate and natural capital reporting requirements and must evolve business practices to ensure long-term sustainability. FLINTpro’s system uniquely assesses all land areas (including forests, agriculture, grasslands, blue carbon), meeting the needs of a wide range of operational and financial uses.

FLINTpro CEO, Dr. Rob Waterworth, notes, “As climate and natural capital reporting becomes mainstream, organizations are finding that there is no single technology or data source that can meet all their needs. FLINTpro solves this problem by integrating multiple streams of data, including best in class soil and biomass estimates, to simplify natural capital reporting for carbon, greenhouse gas emissions, biodiversity, water and soil.”

FLINTpro’s capital raise was led by Understorey Ventures and supporting investment from new investors Pollination, Persei Venture and existing investors Ananta-OM and Synovia Capital. This marks a step change in funding FLINTpro’s leading solution addressing the needs of managing our natural capital, the ongoing maturity of the carbon market, and the goal of the decarbonization of the atmosphere.

Understorey Director and FLINTpro board member, Jordan Soriot comments: “FLINTpro’s solution drives higher integrity reporting and analysis which is key to building trust in a growing and complex sector. The technology has enormous potential to unlock nature-positive outcomes and GHG emissions drawdown at scale.”

Martijn Wilder, co-founder and CEO of Pollination states: “We’ve seen a rapidly increasing demand for technologies that can provide accurate data to support climate and nature reporting. Pollination has been working with FLINTpro over many years and see their potential as a strong market leader in this space.”

Mr Soriot sums up the growth opportunity saying, “FLINTpro’s mission to reveal nature’s value will enable organizations to map and quantify their land-based impacts effectively and accurately, allowing them to take greater control over their strategies to meet or exceed increasingly complex and ambitious reporting requirements, stakeholder expectations, and emissions reduction targets”.
