Tina is a proven leader with 20+ years leading global financial businesses and teams, most recently at S&P Global as the COO of the $4B Ratings Division. Prior to that, she led the global business lines of US Public Finance and Global Structured Finance. Tina led teams at S&P through times of unprecedented business growth and crises – from the credit crisis to massive regulatory change, to significant margin expansion. Throughout these experiences, Tina transformed S&P’s capabilities, enabling the business to overcome generational crises and thrive. Tina’s passion lies with innovating business capabilities with thoughtful strategies, bold execution, and building winning teams. She takes great pride in mentoring and elevating her team members while delivering results. These are values Tina learned early on, while attending West Point and serving as a captain in the U.S. Army. Currently, Tina is the CEO of FLINTpro, a nature analytics and technology company empowering confident, data-informed decisions to drive positive change for businesses at scale. Robert is the co-founder and Chief Science, Policy, and Innovation Officer at FLINTpro where he has led the development of FLINTpro, the world's first SaaS-based system designed to maximize the utility of models, spatial data and satellite products for land sector reporting. Rob has over 25 years of experience in land sector monitoring systems across the private sector, academia, and state and federal governments. This has given him a profound understanding of the intricacies involved designing and building technical systems to meet policy and reporting needs. He is a sought-after expert and is an IPCC lead author, UNFCCC expert reviewer and has authored numerous peer-reviewed papers and guidelines, including the upcoming land sector guidance for the Greenhouse Gas Protocol. Kurt McFarland is the Chief Financial Officer of FLINTpro and brings diverse financial and operational experience from a career spanning 15+ years across investment banking, private equity and VC-backed companies. He is passionate about the intersection of nature and technology, and the opportunity for emerging Nature Tech companies to elevate the role of nature-based solutions in addressing the biodiversity and climate crises. Kurt brings natural curiosity, commercial acumen and a collaborative approach to his work in the nature space.
Kurt has held leadership positions at numerous mission-driven startups in the US and Australia, including NationBuilder, Kinela and Expert360. In addition, he operates as an advisor and Board member with impact-focused nature and social impact organizations. Kurt holds a B.Com(Hons) in Finance from the University of Sydney, an MBA from IE Business School and is a CFA Charterholder.
As Co-Founder and Lead Engineer & Architect at FLINTpro, Malcolm Francis drives the design and technical architecture of our core platform.
With over 30 years of experience in software architecture, geospatial data systems, cloud and high-performance computing to provide solutions that integrate advanced analytics and environmental modeling. He has consistently pushed the boundaries of innovation, solving complex environmental and data challenges. His technical contributions have helped solidify FLINTpro as a leader in GHG accounting, biodiversity integration, and land-use change analytics.
Prior to co-founding FLINTpro, Malcolm worked on developing large-scale systems for Government and NGO’s, gaining hands-on experience in high performance, scientific, and big data computing. His technical skills extend across our entire technology stack, from backend APIs and models to cloud infrastructure to advanced geospatial visualization and reporting tools.
As the co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of FLINTpro, James Leitch leads the development and strategic direction of the company’s cutting-edge technologies. He spearheads the enhancement of the FLINT platform, a global tool for land sector reporting, ensuring its continuous evolution to meet industry needs.
James is a seasoned software engineer with almost 30 years of expertise in systems architecture, design, development, and implementation. He specializes in large-scale modeling systems, scientific computing, high-performance cluster development, and data modeling. From 2003 to 2014, he played a pivotal role in the creation of the Australian Carbon Accounting System (FullCAM), contributing significantly to its success.
With broad experience across a range of ICT roles, James has a proven track record of working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including policymakers, scientists, government bodies, and international organizations, to deliver high-quality, impactful projects.
Meghan Purdy has spent her career collaborating with scientists to build useful tools for mitigating and improving our resilience to climate change. As Lead Climate Product Manager at Jupiter Intelligence, Meghan developed enterprise API and SaaS application solutions to help organizations strengthen their resilience to climate change. She previously spent 10 years at Moody's RMS, where she designed software and analytics to deliver their world-leading natural catastrophe models to the insurance industry. Now at FLINTpro, Meghan spearheads the development of products assessing the impact of land activities on greenhouse gas emissions, deforestation, and biodiversity worldwide. Meghan has a degree in Earth and Planetary Sciences from Harvard University.
Josh Shaeffer is a seasoned sustainability and technology professional with expertise in regenerative agriculture and carbon projects. Previously, Josh was VP of Business Development and Partnerships at Boomitra, a leading soil carbon project developer, and has previously worked with Adidas and Runtastic. Josh earned an MBA from Emory University in innovation and earned a sustainability leadership certificate from Presidio Graduate School.
Laila leads the Client Solutions client team at FLINTpro, where she works with customers to identify their unique challenges and devise tailored solutions that mitigate risk and create value. Before joining the world of Nature Tech, Laila led the solutions team at ClimateAi, which is focused on forecasting and physical risk. Prior to that, she spent nearly a decade in the Food and Agriculture sector, where her interest in Ag Tech drew her to leading Solutions teams in the Climate space. Laila holds an MS in Agricultural & Resource Economics from the University of California, Davis, and a BA from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
Rob is an accomplished environmental scientist with extensive experience in greenhouse gas (GHG) modeling and climate policy. Currently serving as Head of Client Solutions at FLINTpro, he leads the development of advanced GHG solutions and coordinates project delivery across various sectors, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Previously, he held the role of Director of Science, where he managed research initiatives and product development in land use change and emissions abatement.
Rob has played pivotal roles in the design and implementation of national inventory systems for the land sector and has contributed as a lead author on key IPCC guidance documents. His expertise extends to collaboration with international organizations on climate-related financial disclosures and the development of custom reporting solutions.
Rob's academic credentials include a Bachelor’s degree in Resource and Environmental Management from the Australian National University, where he graduated with First Class Honours. He has also been involved in significant projects, such as developing forest carbon estimation capabilities and providing technical advisory support in various countries.
His work reflects a commitment to sustainable land management and the integration of scientific research into practical policy solutions.
Geoff is a forestry expert with over 20 years of experience in forest carbon and sustainability. As part of FLINTpro, he specializes in carbon accounting and has played a pivotal role in developing forest methods for Australia’s carbon credits scheme, conducting landscape-level carbon assessments, and driving climate disclosures. His global expertise spans projects across Africa, Asia, and Latin America.
On the basis of his deep technical background, Geoff now supports APAC business development at FLINTpro, working closely with clients to identify solutions that help them achieve their sustainability goals. Geoff holds both undergraduate and Master’s degrees in Forestry from the Australian National University.
Erika Gammon joins FLINTpro with 20 years of marketing and branding experience with an MBA in Sustainability. Her undergraduate degree is from Babson College with a concentration in entrepreneurship and marketing. As a lead account representative for advertising giants including Publicis, Havas and IPG, Erika previously executed major efforts for Fortune 500 companies including Bank of America’s corporate sponsorship of the World Economic Forum and announcing net zero strategies. Erika has led initiatives that include winning the BNEF Pioneers award in 2023, CleanTech award in 2024, and an Earthshot Prize nomination. With a focus on early stage and growth startups in the climate- and nature-tech space, Erika delivers on building brand awareness, expanding a customer base, and optimizing marketing and communications operations internally for accelerated growth.
Holt Thrasher is Founder of Synovia Capital, where he currently focuses on investing in the information technology sector supporting advanced ecosystem data analytics. Holt is an active conservationist and serves as the board Chair of Mongabay, a board member of Dunya Analytics, a fellow of Forest Trends, and Island Conservation. He was formerly a board member or fellow of the Lincoln Land Institute Center for Geospatial Solutions, the President’s Council of Ceres, Executive Fellow of the Yale School of the Environment, the Chairman of the Board of the National Audubon Society and Audubon Connecticut and Trustee and Treasurer of the National Marine Sanctuaries Foundation. Holt has a BA from Colby College and an MBA from the International Institute of Management Development, Lausanne, Switzerland.
Jordan Soriot is Founder and Executive Director of Understorey, an Australia-based private impact fund focused on accelerating solutions for significant climate and environmental outcomes. He is an active conservationist and deeply committed to catalyzing urgent solutions for climate stability and the protection and restoration of our natural world, with a focus on leveraging natural climate and nature-inspired solutions. Jordan holds a Master of Environment from the University of Melbourne with a focus on Climate Change and Conservation and a Master of Architecture having moved from a previous career in the built environment.
Jim brings decades of pioneering leadership and scientific expertise to FLINTpro. A renowned oceanographer and physicist, he has led transformative global initiatives across government, academia, and the nonprofit sector, with a focus on environmental sustainability and climate change. Jim is a former Under Secretary of Commerce for Atmosphere and Oceans and administrator of the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). He is currently Director of the Global Carbon Measurement Program of the William J. Clinton Foundation, using forestry programs to reduce carbon-dioxide emissions and alleviate poverty in developing countries.
Stephanie Cohn Rupp is the Chief Executive Officer and Partnership Chair at Veris Wealth Partners. She has more than 20 years of global impact investing experience. Throughout her career, Stephanie has focused on building scalable, profitable, sustainable businesses. Based in Denver, she helps lead the firm’s impact wealth management growth strategies, financial performance, and client experience. Before joining Veris, Stephanie was Managing Director, Partner, and Head of Impact Investing at Tiedemann Advisors where she served clients as a Wealth Advisor and led the development of the impact investing platform and impact client experience. Prior to that, she was CEO of Toniic, a global community of impact investors which she grew tenfold. Previously, Stephanie held globally focused investment roles at Omidyar Network, PlaNet Finance, UBS, and The World Bank and built greenfield microfinance institutions financed by USAID. Stephanie is a Board Director and Board Secretary of the US Sustainable Investment Forum (US SIF), a member of the Impact Assets 50 Review Committee, and an advisory board member to the Panel of Recognized International Market Experts in Finance (PRIME Finance) based in the Hague.
Stephanie earned her Master of Public Administration degree from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government and her Master of Science degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science. She is a French and US binational. In 2017, Stephanie co-authored The ImpactAssets Handbook with Jed Emerson and since has published multiple editorials on the Impact and ESG sector, including in Medium and the Financial Times.
Currently serves as the Executive Chair at New Forests founded in 2005. He is Executive Chair of New Forests’ Board of Directors and the Chair of the company’s Investment Committees. David has over 40 years’ experience in forestry investment, forest management, science, and public policy. David is dedicated to innovative, responsible investment strategies in the forest sector and associated assets.Previously, David was responsible for investment programs that integrated forest management with emerging environmental market opportunities at Hancock Natural Resources Group (HNRG). Prior to joining HNRG, David was the Executive General Manager of State Forests of NSW where he led pioneering transactions in the commercial development of environmental markets. From 1985-1995, David worked with the Canadian Forest Service as a scientist, director of scientific programs, and ultimately as national Director-General of Science and Sustainable Development. David has a PhD from the University of British Columbia and a Bachelor of Science in Forestry from the University of Toronto in Canada.
Howard Bamsey is an Honorary Professor in the School of Regulation and Global Governance at the Australian National University. He is a member of the boards of the Climate Policy Initiative and Climate Works Centre. He was previously Chair of the Global Water Partnership, Executive Director at the Green Climate Fund and Director General of the Global Green Growth Institute. He has served as Special Adviser on Sustainable Development to the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and Special Adviser on Green Growth to AusAID. Earlier he was Australia’s Special Envoy on Climate Change, a Deputy Secretary in the Australian Public Service and CEO of the Australian Greenhouse Office. He held several appointments at ambassadorial level in the Australian foreign service.
Has over 35 years of experience in forest sector carbon analyses and modeling. Prior to his retirement, Dr. Kurz worked for 23 years as Senior Research Scientist at the Canadian Forest Service (Natural Resources Canada) in Victoria, BC, where he led the development of Canada's National Forest Carbon Monitoring, Accounting and Reporting System. Before joining NRCan, he worked in the private sector. As a research scientist, he worked with Canadian and international government agencies, industry, environmental groups, and the international scientific community. His research focuses on carbon dynamics in forests and harvested wood products and the opportunities of the forest sector to contribute to climate change mitigation. Dr. Kurz co-authored eight reports of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), and published over 200 peer-reviewed scientific papers. He serves as adjunct professor at the University of British Columbia (UBC) and at Simon Fraser University. He obtained his PhD in Forest Ecology from UBC and an honorary doctorate from the Swedish Land University. He is an International Fellow of the Royal Swedish Academy of Agriculture and Forestry.
